Anjuli, as a black person yourself, what would you be saying to black people now to look at? What would you be advising them to look at from a black person’s point of view?
I don’t speak as a black person, period. I speak as a person, an educated person, a well-travelled, worldly-wise person, a compassionate person, a person who doesn’t take crap. That’s the kind of person I speak as. I have no advice to black people. They can think for themselves. If they want to do stupid things, they’re free to do stupid things. I’m not their shepherd.
